The International Association of Practising Accountants (IAPA) was established in 1977. Membership comprises medium-size firms of practising accountants worldwide. These firms can now be found in over 50 important business centres around the world. The IAPA is, therefore, represented in the important industrial segments of the globe - North America, Europe, the Far East, and Australasia.

The business world whose needs IAPA members service share concerns and interests that today transcend national boundaries. The IAPA was formed in response to the growing international range of professional financial skills and business knowledge that effective modern accountancy demands.

The Association exists to promote the international interests of its member firms; to provide a professional pooling of knowledge, experience and resources to which all members can have immediate access; and to offer an international network through which practising professionals can exchange ideas, can direct referrals and channel information of matters of material interest to the business growth and success of both their clients and themselves.
