We are proud to be a local, family-led Chartered Accountants with a strong reputation for delivering professional and comprehensive accounting, business advisory and payroll services. Our independent, full service firm operates from our offices in Preston and Blackpool, Lancashire.

Brothers and Directors Chris Calvert and Adam Calvert recently took over the reins from their father Neil, who continues his involvement in the business on a consultancy basis. Family really is at the heart of our business. Indeed, our Preston office, Shorrock House, is named after Neil’s grandfather!

We are driven by a shared motivation to see clients achieve optimum success in their business and our multi-disciplinary team is here to help you and your business navigate fast-changing financial legislation and to ensure compliance.

Rushtons now has over 35 staff across Preston and Blackpool. We operate from two bespoke modern offices, benefitting from the latest technology and comfortable large meeting rooms. Being at either end of the M55, both offices are easily accessible and have free parking.

Founded in Preston in 1880, Rushtons has a rich legacy. As a second-generation family business, we believe the expertise, experience and client-focus that is inherent to our business is invaluable and we pride ourselves on employing local people to serve local businesses.

Pomfret Rushtons is founded in Preston

1980

The beginning of recent times

Neil Calvert qualifies as a Chartered Accountant at Pomfret Rushton, based in Ribblesdale Place, Preston.

1982

Neil Calvert becomes an equity partner.

1988

Rushtons Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers is formed by Neil Calvert and Brian Willacy, based in Winckley Square, Preston.

1988

Winckley Payroll Services is launched, providing a specialised, high quality payroll service to clients.

2000

Rushtons Financial Management is formed to provide financial planning advice.

2001

Neil Calvert becomes Managing Director of Rushtons, Chartered Accountants.

2001

Angela Tranter becomes Tax Director, leading one of the most experience and specialised tax teams in Preston.

2008

Rushtons moves to Shorrock House in Fulwood, Preston. A modern, purpose-built office.

2009

Chris Calvert joins Rushtons as a postgraduate.

2012

Chris Calvert qualifies as a Chartered Accountant.

2015

Merger with Titus Thorp & Ainsworth; Rushtons opens a second office in Blackpool.

2015

Chris Calvert becomes a Director of Rushtons.

2015

Adam Calvert joins Rushtons as a Director, having gained his Chartered Accountant qualification whilst working at PwC for nearly 5 years.

2016

Rushtons Forensics becomes the Lancashire representative of NIFA, the Network of Independent Forensic Accountants.

2016

Rushtons’ Blackpool office relocates to Avroe House in the Blackpool Enterprise Zone.

2021

Vicky Calvert joins us as Head of Operations after twelve years at a Big Four accounting firm.

2023

Neil Calvert retires from day-to-day operations. Sons Chris and Adam Calvert now lead the firm.

2024

Alex Calvert joins our team as Head of Marketing, providing clients with the latest legislation as it is announced.
