Winckley Payroll Services

There are few issues more emotive than how much employees are paid for their work. Getting the weekly or monthly payslip right every time is absolutely critical - which is why so many companies are turning to our in-house payroll services bureau, Winckley Payroll Services.

Often with only a handful of employees to process, the payroll itself does not usually constitute a full-time job. Usually the payroll function is added on to the duties of an accounts clerk or book-keeper. In this part-time capacity, that person is highly unlikely to be able to keep themselves up to date on all aspects of employment legislation. By outsourcing the payroll function it provides businesses with access to trained people who deal with payroll day in day out and who have greater expertise.

The growing burden of legislation is also a problem. In recent years there has been a whole shift onto the employer and the Government has announced a string of changes which effectively mean they are using the employer as a tax agency. As payroll becomes ever more complex so does the process of operating and understanding the associated systems. Some of the items which in recent years have been added to the employers burden are:

  • Student loans
  • Attachment of Earnings Orders
  • Working Family Tax Credits
  • Stakeholder Pensions.

Some clients also choose to use our services for reasons of confidentiality. Directors and Senior Management may prefer to have their payroll processed away from the internal payroll department. We undertake to produce the following:

  • Confidential Payslips
  • Detailed Wage Records
  • Monthly PAYE and NIC calculations
  • Production of all Year End Forms including forms P60 and P35
  • We issue all forms P45
  • We handle all Inland Revenue enquiries
  • We ensure our Payroll Software is kept up to date so saving you initial purchase and ongoing annual maintenance fees.

Real Time Information (RTI)

Real Time Information (RTI) is mandatory for all employers and is to be implemented from April 2013. Under the current PAYE system although payroll is run weekly or monthly the details of payments and deductions made to individual employees are not submitted to HMRC until the end of the tax year.
